The LED light strips for power rails are often used by room greeners to illuminate planted walls. Our "Track Lights" are available in one length (60 cm) and in three different lighting angles (30°, 60° and 90°). All strips are delivered without busbars.

Which Track Lights LED grow light is right for me?

When choosing your new "LED Track Lights" you should ask yourself the following two questions:

- How big is the area that I want to illuminate?

- What light intensity do my plants need?

The first question is comparatively easy to answer. Measure the area where your plants are located and note the width and length of this area.

The second question gets a little more complicated: each plant species has a different need for light. In order for your plant to stay healthy and develop well, you should make sure that your plant gets enough light. When it comes to plants, light intensity is referred to by physicists and biologists as "Photosynthetic Photon Flux Density" and is abbreviated to "PPFD". The unit of measurement is "µmol × m ^-2 × s ^-1 ". The light intensity of our luminaires, expressed as "PPFD", can be found on this page. The higher the PPFD value, the brighter the luminaire. Of course, the PPFD decreases with increasing distance. But what light intensity, measured as "PPFD" does your plant need? As a guide, you will find the light requirements of different plant types and in different development phases here. With a lighting period of 16 hours per day, the following applies:

• green plants
• indoor plants
• facade greening
• Wall greening: 40 - 80 µmol × m ^-2 × s ^-1

growth of

• seedlings
• Microgreens: 100 - 210 µmol × m ^-2 × s ^-1

growth of

• Plants in the vegetative phase
• Leafy greens (e.g. salads)
• Herbs: 210 - 300 µmol × m ^-2 × s ^-1

growth of

• Plants in the generative phase (flowering phase)
• fruiting plants
• Vegetable plants (e.g. tomatoes, peppers): 260 - 690 µmol × m ^-2 × s ^-1

These values ​​are optimal values. If your plants are getting a little less light than indicated here, this is not immediately a cause for concern. The growth and development of your plants will then be slower and the number of flowers and fruits will be reduced. To preserve your plants, however, you should ensure a light intensity of 30 µmol × m ^-2 × s ^-1 not to be undercut.

After you have answered these two questions, you can easily choose the right "Wall Spot" for your application using our graphics. Choose the luminaire that can illuminate your area while providing the greatest possible light intensity. That means you should, if possible, opt for a light with a narrower angle of illumination.
